Starting dance at the age of 10, Jason decided to transform his passion into a profession at 18 years old when he joined the Atlanta Ballet in Atlanta, GA. He began his professional ballroom dance career at Fred Astaire, Virginia Beach and has been a professional instructor since. Jason has been thoroughly examined by the Fred Astaire Dance board members, certified to teach many levels within the Fred Astaire Dance curriculum. He is also a member of the NDCA and actively competes with his students and fellow professionals.

More About Jason Rushing

Starting dance at the age of 10, Jason decided to transform his passion into a profession at 18 years old when he joined the Atlanta Ballet in Atlanta, GA. He began his ballroom dance training at Fred Astaire, Virginia Beach before joining the Fred Astaire D.C. studio in 2012 and thereafter at the Fred Astaire studio in Fairfax.


In 2021 Jason opened his own studio, Rushing Ballroom in Colorado Springs. Most recently he decided to return home to Hampton Roads and joined DanceSportVA in Virgnia Beach where he teaches private and group classes for all levels of Ballroom Dance.


Jason has been a professional instructor since 2005. He has been thoroughly examined by the Fred Astaire Dance board members, certified to teach many levels within the Fred Astaire Dance curriculum. He is also a member of the NDCA and actively competes with his students and fellow professionals.


Jason enjoys teaching students of all ages including both social and competitive dancers. Jason has won multiple Pro/Am championships including the 2020 Holiday Start Ball. The 2020 Texas Open DanceSport Junior Championship, the 2019 Regional Freddy Ball.
